COVID-19: Employee Vaccination Paid Day Off
April 23, 2021
To support and encourage our employees in getting vaccinated for COVID-19, Teck will be providing the equivalent of one additional day of paid leave for all staff and hourly employees who receive a COVID-19 vaccination.
For all employees, salaried staff and hourly, this will be additional hours of paid leave equivalent to a day of regular work (e.g., 8, 10 or 12 hours).
This time will be added to employee entitlement banks and, if not utilized by year-end, will be paid out for both salaried and hourly employees.
This time will be added to employee entitlement banks only once and is intended to cover both first and second dose vaccine appointments.
Employees will be required to provide proof of vaccination to their supervisor in order to be credited the paid time.
Employees at operations where it may be difficult to leave and return during the workday are encouraged to try to schedule vaccinations on days off/non-working hours, where possible.
Employees who are vaccinated on days off/non-working hours will still receive the paid time off credit with proof of vaccination. Vaccinations scheduled during work hours will require use of the paid time off provided.

If you experience any symptoms, self-isolate, contact your local public health authority (call 811) and get tested for COVID-19. Do not go to work. Please also inform your supervisor, including your testing status, and complete contact tracing.
